The Circumnavigators Club, founded in 1902, is an organization for people who have made a trip around the world. You can learn more about the Club on the international website including the prestigious Magellan Award. In Chicago, the local chapter usually sponsors 4 educational events a year plus a Holiday party in December.

We also sponsor a party in July to raise funds to support the Circumnavigators Foundation. One of the main activities of the Foundation is to send carefully selected students (Scholars) on an around the world trip to pursue research. Our creed is:

Below are our 2008 events. Please reserve the dates on your calendar. This information is posted, as it becomes availble, from Dave Gotaas (contact via e-mail), our Vice President of Programs as he determine speakers and locations. Marilyn Fischel, (e-mail) is the other Vice President of Programs. Her focus is on event execution.

Don't forget to review 2007's events and photos.   See Photos & Events section for 2002 - 2007.

Please update our Secretary Barb Franch (contact via e-mail), on your current e-mail address. Some announcements are made only via e-mail. To guarantee Spam filters don't block her e-mails add her e-mail address to your program's list of allowed e-mails. If you prefer, she can also send you e-mail invitations of our events instead of costly paper invitations.
